OKTA Construction Egerton Crescent

Year-end update on progress of Egerton Crescent

In January 2021 the OKTA Construction team started work on an exciting project; the full renovation of a luxury residential property in South Kensington’s Georgian-era Egerton Crescent.

The brief was to transform a historic 5-storey house into a contemporary family home – combining cutting-edge design inspired by high-end international living with a classic Georgian backdrop and 21st century London aesthetic.

As the year concludes and as much progress has been made, we wanted to share an update on the work to date.

In July 2021, the basement level was completed. The rear basement was formed in four levels of underpinning; a total of 66 underpins were completed in 16 weeks – both on time and on budget.

The basement is located underneath a newly landscaped terrace and dining room, and will be the site for a sauna, living room and home cinema. We are proud that the entire process was executed with the full engagement of the property’s neighbours and resulted in no complaints.

Following a full property rewiring, in the last few months major milestones have included a multi-story floorplan restructuring, Mechanical & Electrical 1st fix completion, heritage lime plastering and lath completion and fine tiling work in bathrooms and the contemporary lower ground-floor living space.

From January 2022, following the construction of a custom-designed Axel Vervoordt kitchen, the soft interiors work will begin and we look forward to showing progress in due course.
